Financial Information

Many entrepreneurs have opened SUBWAY® outlets in locations that may not have been considered by other franchisors. Worldwide, SUBWAY® outlets can be found at airports, businesses, military bases, hospitals, colleges and universities, convenience outlets and major sporting facilities.

The SUBWAY® concept has some of the lowest start-up costs in the industry. Detailed investment information is outlined in the Capital Requirements worksheet in Subway Systems Australia's brochure.  In some cases, traditional SUBWAY® outlets can be opened for as little as $204,050.00 AUD. Your complete investment will depend on many factors including location, rent, outlet size, extent of renovations required and equipment. The franchise agreement has a term of 20 years and is renewable for a further term subject to terms and conditions being satisfied.

Royalties and Advertising fees are based on gross sales exclusive of GST and other taxes.  Royalties of 8% are payable to the company and a 4.5% advertising fee is payable into the advertising fund.  Franchisees in some markets may vote to increase the marketing fee percentage for local advertising purposes.

The Franchise fee of $16,500 including GST is one of the lowest in the industry despite the size of the franchise chain. To encourage multi-unit operation, the franchise fee is reduced to $8,250 including GST for additional franchises and as a result, around 70% of franchises in Australia and the United States are currently purchased by existing owners!

A SUBWAY® franchise offers simple operations with no deep frying or grease, brand recognition, support with systems in place, and teaching of cost control methods to help run your business efficiently!
